outdent or hanging indent

I am having a problem with - what I think would be called - a hanging indent. Turns out thats not what it is called so I am lost... What I am trying to do in InDesign is this
This about that about this
about that about this
about that about this
about that about what.
Make sense? Any ideas?

You'll have to change the numbers to fit your needs but try this. Set up
the paragraph with a left indent of one inch and a first line indent of
minus one inch.

Have you tried <Ctrl + BackSlash> at the required position of a 'hanging indent'?
