I am getting the following message whenever I try to print more than 1 page
at a time to InDesign 2.01:

"Printing Error: Problem initializing the current printer. Check the system
print settings"

The first page prints fine, but the subsequent pages don't print at all. If
I only print 1 page at a time, it is fine.

This is a new system which I have just installed ID 2.01 on. It is a Pentium
4 2.4 mhz with 768 MB of Ram. I am running Win XP home. I am printing to a
Lexmark Optra S 1855 PS using Lexmark's postscript drivers.

I had been printing to this printer with this drive with this version of ID
on my old system (Pentium 3 866 with 512 MB Ram) with no problem. I have
checked the print settings and don't see anything wrong.

Additionally, I can print multiple pages from other applications to this
printer and driver without a problem.

Can anyone suggest what I should be checking? Thanks.

I seemed have cured the problem -- I check lexmark.com and found a newer
driver for XP -- removed the old one, installed this one, and it seems fine.

Cyndee:

That would have been one of my suggestions -- along with using the Microsoft PS driver from WinXP.

I never even thought of trying the MS driver because back when I was using
Win2K I had such bad experiences with it (many fonts turned to Courier --
worked perfectly with the Lexmark driver though).

Well, its all fixed now. Thanks.
