I want to use a ppd file in pagemaker 7 and install it in Indsign. The question is:
Can I use a ppd from pagemaker 7.
How do I install it into indesign v2

Thanks Peter

Peter,

PPD-handling in ID is different. There is no way to choose different PPDs to
a special Printer-Port (which was a very nice feature in some special
cases), but you have to install the PPD as additionally PS-Printer in
Windows. This is easy to do: Download the actual PostScript-Driver from the
adobe-site, and while installing you are beeing asked which PPD you want to
use. Point to the path, and voilà. For different PPDs you can repeat this as
often as needed. The PPD is copied to a Windows-system-folder by the
installer.

If the PPD is not compatible (PS-level), the installer refuses to complete
the procedure (i.e. the old linotype-230/330-PPDs don't run). Then try to
get a more actual.
