Tammy--

Scaling the text frame using the Free Transform tool also works.

Thanks,

Ole

Is there anyway to Stretch Type in InDesign like you can in QuarkXpress?

Check out the Advanced Character Formats panel in the Paragraph and Character Style dialogs. Or, to manually do it, check out the Show Options menu item on the Character Palette.

There are also ways of doing this by grabbing and dragging, but I've never felt the need to do that so I'm not sure on those details.

Ole, we sure do appreciate all your insightful contributions to these fantastic Forums...

...but sure trust it's not detracting from getting your book into production!

Looking like late June? We can't wait much longer without your InDesign INspiration!

Try using the Scale tool. Also notice that if you drag one corner of the bounding box over its opposite corner you can flip text or any frame content vertically or horizontally.

It would sure be nice if the Adobe Photoshop Team and the Indesign team had a meeting and made things consistent between the two!
