Hi, I'm having a similar problem wich started happening when i uptdated incopy to 5.03, didn't happen with 5.0
As im typing some of the text gets all scrambled (the characters) being unreadable unless i go down a page (which also lags) and come back. I tried forcing redraw (shift + F5) with no results.
I'm working locally (files stored in computer, not server) and have an ATI radeon x1300 with 256 shared, 1 gig of Ram, Win XP and Core Duo.
I'm thinking of switching back to 5.0 but haven't had a chance.

hi, i went back to 5.0 and no longer have any problems with the refresh of characters and incopy is working more fluently, no lag or delay.
could it be something from the 5.03 version?

I would like to comment that IQue 5.0x is quite old, is riddled with basic issues concerning the strategies between server and client. Since you say you are running CS3 You must be using IQue 5.1 or even 5.2 as 5.0 does not support CS3.

My experience with IQue is one that I must say has been a mixed bag of frustration and joy. MediaSpan (NewsEdit) to their credit seem to have realized a bit late that InCopy simply does not have the support from Adobe that InDesign does. As a consequence Incopy lags in development...

One thing I have discovered however. MediaSpan over promises and under delivers. The sales team must sleep though the training classes because rarely do they know enough of the technical to get it right. The support staff tries to get it right, but I fear they spend their lives answering bozo questions or going to developers for answers.

Take a page from the get it right book.
Pick a site to be a primary test site that is a large site a medium site and a base site. Put developers on call to make adjustments to bugs on an emergency basis and I'll bet these bugs get squashed weekly. Probably help the customer service too!

BTW
Software that puts a minimum on its product should run at expected speeds. No delays... Gamers would flame and run hiding from your products if you did that to them what makes them think corporate users are any different. Stupid is as stupid does!
