How to force Illustrator (PC) to open a new document (by default) in maximized window with rulers appeared?

There is nothing to set up in preferences.

Thank you in advance.

What are you settings in Windows for .AI files? Have you altered your startup files to suit your needs? There's information on setting the defaults in the User Guide to AI10. What O/S are you using?

My winows setting for AI is 'open in maximized window' and that works well.
New open file appears in non-maximized size form without roulers.
To get the wanted result I have to maximized an open file (by clicking on it) ant pressing CRTL+R to get roulers to appear.

What I want is to get a new file open in its full, maximized size with roulers on.

Till now I have not found the clue.

Have you got any idea to get the expected effect?

Thank you for your attention.

What Windows O/S (Operating System) are you using? What exact version of Illustrator 10.0.X? These will affect how the defaults are saved. You set how Windows opens your new Illustrator documents in Windows itself. To get Illustrator to open full screen find your Illustrator Shortcut icon. RIGHT click it, Properties, then click the arrow in the RUN box and choose RUN MAXIMIZED. Note -- existing documents will not start this way until re-saved. Try removing your AIPREFS file with Illustrator closed so it gets rebuilt the next time you start AI.

You need to set Windows Explorer to "Show Hidden files" in order to do so.
You do this from Tools>Folder Options>View in Windows Explorer

Artur,

>>Theres is not such file on my disk<<

If you have had Illustrator running then that file is there....

Under Windows 2x/XP it will be found in c:\documents and
settings\~username\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 10\
