Temporary File Location

Has anybody else noticed how Illustrator dumps and leaves huge Temporary files (AI#####.TMP) onto Network Drives in the location of the Illustrator files being worked on? As an Administrator, I find it really frustrating that Adobe have the tendancy to decide where to dump these types of files. Does anybody out there know how to force Illustrator to place its temp files on the Local Machine to save on Server space and Network Traffic??? They allow us to set the location of the Scratch disks- why not the Temp files

It will store temp files in the Scratch disk location set from
Edit>Preference>Plugins & Scratch Disk
