Hi,

This is embarrassing to ask for your help. I know it is so simple to make it but I am not sure how to obtain exactly what I want.

Can someone please kindly tell me how to draw an asterisk symbol in Illustrator?

I know it has a pucker/bloat function that can do something like that, but not exactly what I want. What I did was create a hexagon and applied the pucker/bloat function, but it ended up with a flower look-like picture not the asterisk symbol.

Your tip would be great.

Thank you.

Trevor, Would the asterisk key on your keyboard be what you're looking for? If so, use the text tool to type it and afterwards go to Type > Create outlines. Now it will not have any type memory and will be as if you just pulled the rectangle tool out for instance.

Thanks Dean. I thought I needed to use some tricks involving manipulating tools provided in Illustrator, but yes you are right, the keyboard symbol is exactly what I was looking for. I never thought of this so simple approach.

This has solved my problem.

Thank you.
