Thanks for your help!
Thanks for the response and maybe that's what I'll have to do; but the font (Arial) I'm using has the fractions I need - I just have to introduce them as special characters. I'm getting by now by using MS Word to write the fraction and than cutting and pasting them into Illustrator's text box. I guess my question should have been: "How can I insert special characters into the Illustrator text box?"
By the way... Do you know the name of a fractions font? I have Adobe Font Folio and hopefully it has one for me to use.
alt+0188 = Ľ
alt+0189 = ˝
alt+0190 = ľ

There used to be a Type1 Helvetica Fractions font from Adobe. Years
since I used it, and IIRC it was a pain to use! <g>
FontName:Helvetica-Fraction
FamilyName:Helvetica
StyleName:Fractions
FullName:Helvetica Fractions
WritingScript:Roman

You may have problems using the Arial O/T fractions in Il10 as O/T
support in 10 is a bit limited.
Harron,
The character map worked. It is a little faster than using MS Word and it was easy to find all the special characters of each font....
For others: To get to the character map in XP go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System tools > Character Map.
Thanks, Mike
For others: To get to the character map in XP go to Start > Programs >
Accessories > System tools > Character Map.
That assumes the user has not customized (reorganized) their Start menu.
It's a good idea to assign a keyboard shortcut to CharMap if you find yourself accessing it a lot.
