I have a new computer with Windows 2000 and I am running Illustrator 10.0.
When I draw a line and then decide later to decrease the line weight I am unable to do so.
I can make the line thicker and thicker, but when I try and make it thinner nothing happens.
Is there something I should change in the settings?
I would appreciate any help/advice that anyone can give me on this gray cloudy humid day.
Thanks very much in advance
Julie

As long as the object is selected, you should be able to click up or down, or even type in the weight size and get it to chang up or down. If it's not doing that (even if stroke color box isn't on top, then try deleting the AIPrefs file and see if that fixes things. AIPrefs is a system hidden file, so you have to first be sure to set SHOW HIDDEN FILES in Tools, Folder Options, View (depending upon your version of Windows. Then you can do a FIND for "AIPrefs", which also depends upon your version of Windows as to where it is. Below are the locations:
• In Windows, this file is called AI Prefs. In Windows 98 and ME, it is located in the C:\Windows\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 10 folder.
• In Windows NT, this file is located in C:\WinNT\Profiles\user name\ Application Data\Adobe Illustrator 10 folder.
• In Windows 2000 and XP it is in the C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 10 folder.
