Hi, Can someone tell me when it is possible to use Merge Selected in the Layers Palett? I selected the paths to be merged then in the Layers Pallet, the Merge Selected option is greyed out. The Merge Selected option is always greyed out. I don't have a complicated graphic here. I don't get it. Is this a bug?
Thanks, Bob

You are right; this is a bug. The workaround is to create a new layer by clicking the add layer button on the layers palette. Then select both layers. The merge selected button is now selectable. Boy do I wish Adobe would fix this one!

Bob, merge selected on the layers palette merges layers, not paths. To merge paths, you will probably want to use the pathfinder palette. Pathfinder gives you a number of ways to combine or separate objects.

I hope you don't mind my poking fun above. It's just that I got a laugh when I got to the end of your post where you said "Is this a bug?"

If you need more help, we're here.

Merge Selected Appears to always be greyed out. Doesn't matter how I select the layers, whether via the target button (selecting artwork), selecting the layers one at a time, grouping them together and selecting the group.
