Illustrator CS 2 is shortening filenames after saving....

There are two computers in our office running illustrator CS 2 and every once in while after a file is saved with a name like "Dance Team distressed.ai" we will go back to access the same file but it will have the filename "DANCE_~4.ai" It's acting like a compatibility issue but I can't find any settings to change, and it only happens once in a while.

Please help if you can....

If your problem is related to saving on a network then you may need to update to CS 12.0.1. There is a long thread about this with branches to other threads. steve
