Deleted AIPREFS and still no satisfaction.

I was looking for blinking cursor in text line as I am typing and editing...

Please help!

If you first create a block in which to type, the blinking cursor is there, it's just hard to see. It's that red to black flashing bit which is impossible to see and looks as though it's part of the text block. Try typing something, do you see the cursor flashing at the end of what you type?

right...that is what I am saying is missing...

There is EOL cursor .. red nor black... just nothing... it is bothering me as I have to backspace to see where I am at in the line.

hmmm
I've had a few glitches where AI seems to go a little bonkers and suddenly I can't type - as in I double click a text block to type, but, like you say the cursor is no where to be seen and I can't tell where the type will land. In all instances where that happened I had to do a full shut down and restart of the computer. Of course I don't know why that happens and if you've already deleted your prefs you've probably also already restarted.

I'm sorry I can't be more help, I'd be interested to know if someone else has a solution though.

What are the specs on your video card along with the Driver Version?

Although this won't make your cursor more visible, you might try pulling down Type and clicking Show Hidden Characters. Your cursor will be wherever the infinity symbol appears (looks like an 8 rotated 90 degrees). It all looks a little strange at first but once you've become accustomed you can see all of your spacing characters, line return characters, tabs, etc.

Just a thought.

Ern,

try hitting Ctrl-H (or going to View>Show Edges). Sometimes, it works really strange with text.

As a diagnostic, try turning down your Hardware Acceleration to zero - if
that helps, it is definitely a video driver problem.

Also, have you tried deleting your aiprefs file? (No extension and a HIDDEN
file)
