Workspace not appearing

I've recently purchased a copy of Illustrator 10 and have been using for the past couple of days with no problem, but then earlier today my computer crashed and after I rebooted and tried to open Illustrator, the actual workspace screen won't appear. although all the floating menus are there. I've also noticed that in the navigator box nothing is registering. I've tried running repair from disk as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the whole thing, but just can't get the workspace back. I've also got a copy of Photoshop on the same machine and that still works fine. Any suggestions??

you may want to trash your AIPREFS file (search the Forum for "aiprefs" if you don't know how to do it).
Meanwhile, a fast workaround is to hit "F" to cycle trough artboard views. However, it is possible that the next time you start AI, you'll still have the issue, so trashing the prefs is the sure way.
