Remove/Hide Part Of A Drop Shadow?

I need to figure out how to hide part of a drop shadow on some text. If you look at the link below, I am using a white drop shadow to give the text some glow. I would like to remove or hide the drop shadow at the top where the text is over the border, and beyond the page.

Could somebody give me a hint on how I might be able to do that. Or do it in a differnt way.

Any other recommendations for improvement are also greately appreciated.

Seperate the shadow from the text. If shadow is an effect, expand it.

Then, create a clipping path for the shadow only.
