Hi.

At Illustrator CS3, the rulers are counting from Left to Right and Bottom to Top. This means that if an object is higher than another, then it's y-coordinate has a bigger value.

The problem is that in Flash CS3, the y-axis is measuring in reverse order. From Top to Bottom. The lower an object is the higher y-coordinate it has. When I am trying to place objects from Illustrator (that designers give) to Flash (that I am developing) and try to keep accurate the pixel coordinates, I have always to recalculate the y-coordinates just because of this wrong direction that the two programs gives at y-axis.

Is there any option in Illustrator (or in Flash) in order to revert the y-axis measure-ruler? ..

If not, please make an update of Illustrator (and Flash and Photoshop and all suite programs) where users can define not only the type of measurements (i.e. pixels, inch, etc) but also and the direction of the rules that they want from the origin, Top to Bottom - Bottom to Top, Left to Right - Right to Left. And I mean update, because each suite should have the programs it offers able to collaborate each other at least at this simple point!... :/

Simply set the origin of your artboard by dragging the marker from the top-left corner to where you want your "center" to be. Other than that - input fields support simple math operations, so typing +, -, / and * before values will also provide a way of calculating new values.

Moving the ruler origin does not reverse the direction of the rulers.

Wow! I've wanted to (occasionally) change ruler origin since that last dinosaur drawing I made. Thanks! (works in Fireworks and Photoshop as well, but apparently not Flash)
