hi folks,

I have artwork on A3 landscape format, 'my page-setup' is A3 landscape, and my Document set-up is A3 landscape. I don't have tiling clicked in the print settings, i have 'Single full page'.

I adjusted the page tiling on my artboard so that it's lined up with the paper edge and the artwork fits within the inner rectangle.

What happens when i print? the whole thing is increased in size and the left edge goes off the page and gets chopped.

Any ideas anyone why this is happening? I'm using an EPSON STYLUS Photo 2100.
Thanks
john

Well, i came up with a work-around. Put it in Quark and print it that way. the downside is that the colours are now awful through the RIP software.

Still, i'd like to know why Illustrator is resizing-Up my artwork when it prints. it's a very serious problem.

This is a total shot in the dark, but try changing the document resolution to 300dpi. I've noticed on my 1280 at home that a PS file that isn't 300dpi resizes (it reduces or enlarges) to dimesions that would make it 300dpi. Maybe AI is doing the same thing.

Anyway, good luck and let us know if that's it.

Hiya Mike
Thanks very much for the reply. I tried that with no luck I'm afraid. Do you mean changing the output resolution in the Document set-up > 'Printing & Export ' window?

Ah well, you tried. You know earlier on i pasted it all into a new document and it worked - no more up-sizing when i printed. i spent over an hour re-seting up the 2 new documents, tried to print and the problem is back!

Any ideas why this is happening? I'm using an EPSON STYLUS Photo 2100. It prints perfectly from Quark Xpress except the grey comes out green!

I also tried a 50 x 50 mm square on an A4 page and it prints larger.

Thanks Mike. Any ideas from the Support folks?

Yeah that's the one. Like I said it's just a guess.

I ran into the same issue when printing landscape.
The odd thing:
I changed the setup back to portrait, rotated the artwork and boom...
it printed correctly. Go figure.
It's a reasonable work-around, but obviously something's broken.
Any ideas?

Hi Art
I solved this prob. make sure to click the middle 'landscape' button in your print dialog box, not the right hand-side one.

I'm using an Epson printer don't know if you have the same interface.
Give it a wfilrl anyway.
