Can PLT files be opened in Illustrator?

I have thousands of PLT format files I designed over 11 years using the Gerber Graphix Advantage software (PC software). I don't have access to the GA software anymore. Is there anyway to open these files in Illustrator 9 or 10? I work on an iMac,OS 9.1 and have been unable to open or place the files in Illustrator.

There are a few things you can try, but I recommend GraphicConverter:

It easily opens and resaves in most graphics formats.

I didn't see the PLT file format listed on the Lemkesoft Web site. Do you know if it supports the PLT format for conversion, possibly to EPS?

Cadmover (www.kandusoftware.com) inputs and outputs Gerber Plotter files, converting them to and from most anything. I use it all the time...expensive but indispensable...unfortunately the "Lite" version doesn't seem to support Gerber files
