I downloaded some new fonts today and put them in my users font folder and suddenly all of my fonts in illustrator are grayed out and unavalible for use.

So i deleted those fonts, still grayed out.

So I gathered all of my fonts and put them all in the same folder....HD>Library>Fonts. One by one.

And they are still grayed out.

I've got finals this and next week, and I have to have my fonts avalible no doubt about it, so if anyone can help i would appreciate it soooo much!

I'm using G4>Mac OS X 10.1.3>Illustrator 10

Try and delete these files AdobeFnt.lst, AdobeFnt01.lst,Adobefnt.05.lst and AdobeFnt06.lst

Also Repair your permissions, trash AI prefernces and the com.adobeillustrator.plist from the preferences folder.

I am using SUITCASE 10.2.3 i upgraded from an older version..

you might consider using a utility like this to load your fonts...

after updating from extensis to the most recent version...i am finding font loading to be working great in Illustrator 10.... Fonts load up immediately and are accessible in illustrator without having to re-launch the program itself...

I downloaded FONT RESERVE.. but, i found it a little too complicated and offered too many features....

I am likeing SUITCASE...... A LOT....

This may be way too simple an observation, but...when you look at your list of available fonts in the character palette, do you have a document open? If you haven't any document open, you will find most fonts greyed out...
