In this section, we will show you how to use R3DS Zwrap v1.1.3 for ZBrush to wrap a human head scan to a base mesh. You will need the following files:

R3DS Zwrap v1.1.3 for ZBrush plugin installed on your ZBrush.

Follow these steps to wrap the scan to the base mesh:



Open ZBrush and import the scan and the base mesh as separate subtools.
Select the scan subtool and go to the Zplugin menu. Click on R3DS Zwrap and then click on Start.
A new window will pop up with the scan and the base mesh loaded. You can adjust the position and orientation of the base mesh by using the Move, Rotate and Scale buttons on the left panel.
When you are satisfied with the alignment, click on Wrap on the right panel. The plugin will automatically wrap the base mesh to the scan and show you the result.
You can fine-tune the wrapping by using the sliders on the right panel. For example, you can increase or decrease the Wrapping Strength, Smoothness, Detail Preservation and Texture Preservation.
When you are happy with the result, click on Apply on the right panel. The plugin will transfer the wrapped mesh to ZBrush as a new subtool.
You can now export the wrapped mesh as a morph target, displacement map, normal map or texture map by using the buttons on the right panel.
