I'm trying to import a CDR file into Illustrator. The file is from overseas and I can't seem to get an EPS. Illustrator won't import the file. Any known workarounds?

Thx,

G

I think a CDR file must be version 8 for opening with AI 10. It is best to use CorelDraw to save as or Export an Illustrator 7 file. CorelDraw does a fine job of making AI files. CorelDraw will split paths, so you may have to "unite" some of the objects with Pathfinder.

I've run into this before - it seems that some Corel users can't find the export function.

Are there any known translators for newer .cdr files?

I don't know of any apps other than Illustrator and CorelDraw that will handle the files.
