If they are both TrueType, you might try using the native Windows .TTF file with Suitcase for Mac. It can activate and use Windows TrueType fonts without converting them first.

Using Truetype fonts is causing this problem!
Unfortunatly most system fonts on both platforms are TT fonts. When working cross platfrom, postscript fonts do not show this problem.
I tried and it works fine with PS Fonts.
However it would be nice to see a more compatible software in the future, hopefully
