Change Illustrator Serial Number

I need to change serial numbers on various workstations that already have illustrator installed. Do I HAVE to re-install or is there an easier way??

Here's a method Mark Douma reported:

Actually, there is a way to do this without reinstalling anything.

Locate the Adobe Illustrator 10 application in the Finder. Control+click
on it and choose "Show Package Contents" from the contextual menu that
appears. In the new Finder window that pops up, find the "userreg" file
inside the 'Required' folder.

Open that file using a resource editor such as ResEdit and you'll see
a "STR" resource that contains 3 entries, one of which is called "Serial".
Double click that entry and replace the existing string of 25 numbers
with those of your other valid Illustrator serial number. Save your changes
and close the file.

Returning to the Finder, close the Finder window that is showing the contents
of the Adobe Illustrator application package. Locate and delete your existing
Adobe Illustrator preference files and then launch Illustrator. The splash
screen should reflect the new serial number (only the first 20 of the
25 digits will be shown).
