I have used a brush stroke effect (charcoal). The stroke is set as black and I set it to overprint in the Attributes pallette. I then save the file and import it into InDesign (CS3) where the Output preview option clearly shows the stroke knocking out of the background. This was never a problem in CS2. Is this a glitch or is there a step that i'm missing in CS3?

Looks like you have to define the fill of the brush shape as overprinting.

I eventually did this by converting the outline to a shape (Object> Expand Appearance) and then making the fill overprint. Is this what you are referring to?

That's one solution, but you can't easily edit the path afterwards. I was referring to dragging the brush form out of the palette, defining its shape as overprinting and dragging it in again, replacing the original.

Thanks very much. This is great. It would not let me replace the existing brush, but I added a new one and named it "overprint brush". Works perfectly. Thanks again.
