Using XP Pro, IE 7, and GoLive 6, PDF files display well on the Web site, and everything looks good in Layout view, but when I attempt to view them in Preview, the program freezes up. Then the following message appears: "The ordinal 1 could not be located in the dynamic link library Cool Type.dll." However, the PDF file nevertheless displays OK; it is just in going from Layout to Preview that there is a problem. How can I overcome this problem? Thanks.

Are you previewing a regular page that has a link to a PDF, then clicking the link from Preview? I'm guessing Preview just isn't equipped to handle PDF files since browsers usually rely on server headers or browser preferences for how to handle them (download or load via plug-in). Skip preview or don't click the PDF links is probably all the help I could offer.

Yes, exactly. Had always used Preview to see if the PDF displayed satisfactorily, that is, until recently when I started getting the ordinal 1 business. Don't know anything about ordinal 1.

Yes, I can navigate around the problem but still curious as to why I cannot regain the previous very convenient option. Perhaps an Uninstall and Reinstall would help(?).
