Hi! everyone:

If you want to build a yahoo store, either you can use their template, or use their "rtml" code to have more custom look.
I wonder has anyone use GoLive to build a yahoo store?
how far can you go?

Thanks!

Daniel

Daniel,

A friend just requested that I build him an e-commerce site, but he has already signed up for the Yahoo store deal, so I just spent several days investigating what will work with Yahoo store. Their templates, although they will not confirm this, seem to be based on Frontpage-they do support Frontpage extensions.

They do not openly support GL dynamic content, but if you build a static front end to a store you can use it with Yahoo. Although they do not openly support GL dynamic content, they do offer php and mysql as options with their hosting package, which leads me to believe that you should be able to design the whole site using GL.

Their system allows you to integrate existing sites to their store directory, but the ssl certificates and encryption are built into their hosting service. They allow you to establish your own merchant account, but it you check their site, it must conform to certain criteria.

I have not decided whether to develop my friend's site as of yet, but would also be interested in what others have discovered using GL and Yahoo store. I have to admit that being part of their shopping directory would probably have some benefits for e-commerce sites.

Good luck,

Ben

It might be possible to customize Yahoo Store with CoLive 6.0, but as Yahoo! recommend to use RTML then it will be better to go for RTML for customizing or building a new Yahoo Store. You can learn more about Yahoo Store and RTML features here, http://www.ydeveloper.com/rtml-features.html

I have no more idea about the CoLive 6.0 but, make sure before using it!
