I am working on a legacy system for Swift that prints data on a
predefined form, similiar to printing tax information on a predefined
W-2. I have perviously been using Framaker version 5.0 on Unix and
just received 7.2 on Widows. The new framemaker takes the old data
without problem and generates a new form correctly but the output is
now on two pages. First page is the form and second page is the data.
I have been reviewing the old and new generated post script files and
cannot determine what the causes this. There are no explicit showpage
or copypage commands in the new version. I am guessing there is some
different implicit requirement in version 7.2 Can anyone give me a
clue? I am desperate! William Neubert

What is the output? Paper? PDF? HTML?

Have you tried another output format to see how it looks?

If you've been printing to paper, I have a few suggestions:
1. Save to mif, import the mif file, save as fm, and then try your
output again.
2. Save as pdf and see what that looks like.
3. Copy the content to a new blank page and try it.
4. Look at the master page settings. Maybe something is wrong there.
5. Maybe the page size is different between the original and new docs?

The output is paper but the Framemaker output is a disk file of the
basic form. Another custom program merges the form with the program
data to create the disk file that is printed on a post script printer.
The mif input is the same in both cases where the only difference is
one is compiled with version 5.0 frame maker and the other is version
7.2 frame maker.
I have been comparing the two combined post script files and cannot see
the problem. There are no explicit showpage or clearpage commands and
the output post script is very similiar. The page sizes are the same as
well as the master page setting. All the code indicates one page but
two print, one form and one data. The form alone prints on one page and
the data alone prints on one page when printed individually.
