I was just hired as XML expert to convert technical documents written
in Adobe FrameMaker 9 into XML and furture transform that using XSL
and create XSLT finally creating XHTML. I create a EDD, a template and
saved them both. I was then given the document from a coworker which I
need to roundtrip in Framemaker. After creating read/write rules and
using a structured application I was able to roundtrip the document.
Now I am left with a XML document. I tried the conventional "Save as"
to save the document as html but it doesn't maintain all the
formatting when I open it in Firefox. Can anyone tell me if it is even
possible for FrameMaker to comply with my/company needs? Is there any
other open source or cheap software I can use that is compatible with
FrameMaker files and does the conversion in a easy and simple manner?
