1) The chapter title itself, as it appears at the beginning of the chapter, uses an autonumber. Set this up in Paragraph Designer > Numbering. It might be Chapter <$chapnum>\t.

2) If your chapter title style is called ChapterTitle, you need to set up your table of contents file to include the tag. In your book file, right-click the table of contents file and choose Set up file. Include ChapterTitle in the set up.

3) After you include ChapterTitle in your table of contents file and update your FrameMaker book, a style called ChapterTitleTOC is created. This style is used in the table of contents chapter for your ChapterTitle index entry. To change this, go to the Reference page of your table of contents chapter and use Paragraph Designed to modify the ChapterTitleTOC entry you find in the reference page. You also need to setup the content used by the Table of Contents style. This content might be represented like this:

<$chapnum> <$paratext> <$pagenum>. You'll want to add formatting via paragraph designer, including tabs.

4) Also, you need to set up the <$chapnum> for your chapter document. To do this, right-click on the chapter in your FrameMaker book and select Numbering. Setup the Volume, Chapter, Page, and Paragraph numbering for the file there.

Cheers,

Sean
