I have copied some of the Adobe fonts to the system folder, so that I can use them in Word. Likewise, I judiciously moved some never-used fonts out of the system folder to a backup folder. [Hey kids, when you tell the Windows font viewer to delete files, it does. Make a backup copy first.]
My real question is: Am I using up system resources simply by having fonts in the Adobe/Common Files folder, as is the case of the fonts in the Windows/Fonts folder?
I understand that too many fonts in the system folder uses up registry space, etc. I am not experiencing any problems (and am probably well under any system limitation), but it would be helpful to understand the potential impact (if any) of this quadrupling of my font files. (running Windows XP)
