This might sound like a stupid question, but I can't scroll over to other areas within the composition window. I've been trying to make an animated mask which goes all over the screen basically and normally in AE 5 you can just use the slider bars to get to other areas. Where did they go in AE 6?

You can do this with the Hand Tool now. The scroll bars were removed to help streamline the UI.

I love this new feature but the other day I was following the motion path of a later I had sent waaaaaaay out beyond the comp into the pasteboard and eventually I couldn;t see the dots anymore and got lost. I tried desperately to find my way back to the comp screen but was basically just grasping at thin air since I had no way of knowing what direction I was traveling in or where the comp screen was with respect to my location in the pasteboard.

Luckily all it took was a magnification change to pop the comp window back to the comp screen.

Cool feature, but it does make it possible to get totally lost in the grey abyss of the pasteboard...

Darcy, does double-clicking on the magnifying glass on the tool palette re-center you? Just wondering...

Double clicking the hand tool might be what you are looking for to reset the comp to its default.

Does option-z still work for the negative zoom tool?

Yes - also, hold down the spacebar to switch temporarily to the hand tool from any other tool.
