When trying to open AE this mornig I receive the following errors message.

After effect error: finding Preferences folder-no such directory(-120),(21::7)

After Effect can't continue: internal structure damage(g)(48::9).

I delete the Pref. file ,still get the same message.

Any clues.

Any help will be appreciate.

Claude,

If you try to start After Effects when you are logged in to Window 2000 or Windows XP with a roaming account or a system that uses folder redirection, you get the following error: "After Effects error: Could not create preferences because the folder does not exist. -120 21::7". If you log out of windows and log back in on a local system account, the problem should go away. This can also happen if a group policy has been sent to your system that limits your abilities. Finding a group policy that has been pushed down to your system can be really difficult to find.

The worst case scenario for you is that you'll need to remove the system from the network, format abd reinstall your OS. Leave this system off the network to keep new group policies from being forced forced on you.
