Chris Myer said there was some plugin that did a better job of looping backgrounds and the AE explosion last week.. I thought he said it was profoundeffects Useful Assistants or Useful things, but I don't see one listed in there.. and the only one I saw was one that would loop a rotating clock thing and it was mac only... I want one that will take these crappy backgrounds I have to make every day, and make it so I can loop them without doing that whole precomp, fade in 0-100 under at the front and fade out 100-0 trick since that looks hacked when you are doing layered images and whatnot.. any ideas on what that plugin he said was for PC?

BTW.. if you get a chance to go to Chris and Trish Myers Creative Explosion Tour.. DO IT.. that was the best $150 this company has every spent on me.. it's worth $500 if not priceless information for someone that needs to go to the next level for spead and coolness.. they ROCK!

Why do your loops look hacked? That's never been a problem for me.

No not usually if I have the time, but I haven't exactly been getting the most time in the world to do backgrounds, especially since they started charging more and no one seems to have a budget. I'm lucky if I get a budget of 2-3 days for a 15 to 20 sec open cut to music, bacgrounds, bars and the whole package.

I'd rather have a plugin if I could save the time not having to figure that stuff out every time. when you do that disolve down technique (unless you have a better way to do looped backgrounds) you have always have a point where the images fade out if you are layering them.. unless you jack around with them a bunch.. and Chris said that plugin was way easier.. and this place seems to have no problem buying us plugins every once in a while when we ask for them..

maybe I should show you what I'm talking about, I had about 10 minutes to make this background (and of course they wanted it to loop), and I think it looks like ass.

Sub,

If you're short on time and budget, why not look into stock? there's a ton out there.

Or Apple's LiveType.
Comes with bunch of fabulous textures and backgrounds that you can re-time and then render. All seamlessly loopable.

As long as the head and tail of Your clip merge clean... I can't think of a better program to loop layered files than AE.
