Just installed the 3GB switch under XP Pro. Now have 3.50 GB of available RAM. Why does AFX only see/use 2047 MB?

You've run head long into the 2GB per node 32bit app memory limit...
Check your cache preferences and use the help files for guidance. If all you can get is 2GB then it’s a node thing.

I have 2GB in my PC based system and have BETTER stability using AE6 by setting the RAM Preview cache to 20% and the other setting to 60%. AE6 was either crashing or defragmenting it's heap for long periods with the default settings.
Bottom line for me is that AE6 runs much better (for now) with 1GB compared to 2GB!
