I have received this error within a few seconds of opening Adobe Acrobat Professional.

"Adobe Acrobat 8.0.1 Professional cannot be launched at this time. You must launch atleast one other suite component (such as Adobe Photoshop) before launching Acrobat 8.0.1 Professional."

I tried Googling the problem and found a thread in the Mac forum about this but couldn't find a working solution. One user said to move some folders from the following location, but I don't know what the Windows equivalent would be. I have searched for the folders on my machine but with no luck.

/Library/Application Support/Adobe

I tried installing this patch: <http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3796>
...as well as re-installing Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional from the Adobe CS3 Master collection CD, and still no luck.

The notice reappears several times after I click the OK button, then closes Acrobat. I also have the free version of Adobe Reader 8, but I need to be able to click and drag PDF pages into other PDFs, which I can only do with Acrobat Pro.

The version of Acrobat Pro you are using is part of the CS3 suite. You
must open a different CS3 application (like Photoshop) and activate the
suite before you use Acrobat.

I activated the suite when I installed it a few months ago. I had been using Acrobat Pro independently until now.

See if you can activate from another CS application. If not you'll need
to call support.
