I would like to make a pdf file out of a Word document which has tracked changes marked. No matter what I try, when I choose "convert to PDF", it removes the marked changes. How can I convert a Word document and keep the marked changes intact?

Print to the Adobe PDF printer... using the PDFMaker does not convert the tracked changes.

Have you checked the WORD options to be sure that printing the "track Changes" is turned on? Acrobat can't do anything if you don't turn on the WORD feature.

William: Sandy said they were on. It's known that tracked changes are lost when using PDFMaker.

OK, I missed that part. I wonder if the track changes might print if sent to the Adobe PDF printer rather than PDFMaker?

Yes. The "workaround" is to make 2 PDFs. Print once to the Adobe PDF Printer to retain tracked changes. Print again using PDFMaker to retain bookmarks, etc. Open the second PDF and do Document > Pages > Replace to get the tracked changes into the PDF with bookmarks...
