I want to be able to disable the option Recognize Text Using OCR when scanning a paper document into our scanner and converting to a PDF. I know that I can uncheck the box next to this option but is there a way to permanently disable this option? I have looked under Preferences but could not find anything.

Acrobat remembers the settings for OCR once a successful scan is exercised. So uncheck the OCR option and for every successive scans the OCR remains un-checked. The settings remain preserved even for the next launch of acrobat.
