Print the pdf to distiller from Acrobat, either in the two step way or directly. Does the line show up in the re-distilled pdf?
Does it always happen with the same image?
Have you tried using different job options when distilling?
have you tried using pdfmaker to create the pdf?
Which printer are we talking abut here?

Does the line appear when you print the pdf as image?

Just tried printing as image. The horizontal line on the bottom of the image goes away . . . but now a vertical line appears on the right side of the image.

Very odd.

I think I figured it out.

The suspect graphic was a BMP file. I converted it to a TIFF file in Photoshop. Then I re-imported it into Word, created the PS file, distilled it . . . and now the PDF prints without any "extra" lines.

Looks like I'll be avoiding BMPs in the future.

Thanks for the help and suggestions!

Let's just say it's better to use Tif for photo images.
good to hear it's sorted.
