Color to Black and White

I've run a search and found some topics related to what I'm looking for. It seems like the answer may be no, but the topics I found were not specific to what I want.

Is there a way to convert color documents to black and white? My boss has some blueprints that are showing up in red ink, blue ink and such. He wants to know if he can change the color to B/W. I told him to push the document through distiller and select Print color as Black but nooooo. He said he wants it done to the original :|

So what if anything can I do now?

Easy dude. But you gotta have Pro.

Go to Tools>Print Production>Convert Colors. Pick one of the gray gamma spaces.

Caution. If you ever want them in color again, save a copy of the file somewhere beforehand. It can't be reveresed.
