I've had the full version of Acrobat 5 since it came out and it has happily coexisted with Readers 4 and 5. I installed Reader 7 last January and everything has been fine...until today. I was using Reader 7 to look over a pdf I had downloaded, closed it when done. Later that same day I needed to use Acrobat, but now only Reader 7 will open! It has even taken over the desktop icon for Acrobat 5. I tried going to the acrobat.exe in the Acrobat folder in program files, but still reader opens. I tried opening a pdf using Open With directed at Acrobat 5 in Explorer...still get Reader.

Any ideas or suggestions, short of uninstalling Reader 7?

I don't have a solution, but I am having the same issue. I believe I just the other day allowed Acrobat Reader 7 to get and install Web Updates so not sure if that has something to with it

Thanks

Ok may have a workaround. I went in and opened Acrobat 5 Reader. When I did that I was then able to open up Acrobat 5.

Yeah its a pain, but for me at least, seemed to work

YMMV
