I have Adobe Acrobat 5.0 and need to "redline" some pdf documents. Is there an online tutorial that would get me started?
Thanks...
At least this is how the AEC community commonly redlines a PDF:

The article from 2003 should be describing use with either Acrobat 5.0 or 6.0 available at that time.
Flatten your redlines and protect your comments by doing the following (or using a similar javascript):

Hope this helps.

Thanks...
Flattening them may be the answer I'm looking for but is there another way to add text that would become part of the document and they also need to be highlighted ? My "red lines" need to be a permanent part of document as these are for as-builts.
For Acrobat 5 use text boxes to add comments to the pdf (not the sticky note). You can set this to either have a white or transparent background, and has option for a "red" (or other color) border (or none). You can make your text red as well. This will get you a look that is close to the traditional redline by hand. Flatten the document. You can still use the highlight tool on the flattened redline text. Remember to flatten again, to burn the highlighting in as they can be manipulated.
Later versions of Acrobat Pro have enhanced markup tools - like a text boxes w/ arrow attached and a redline "bubble" tool, which approximate a traditional redline even more.
