Acrobat Reader 6.0 takes up to 60 seconds to open a 1 or 2 page PDF file from using IE 6.0, on Windows 98 with a cable-modem connection. My cpu goes to 100% utilization and only relenquishes control when the document begins to open. The preferences within Acrobat are all set for the most speed possible. Any help?

Remove un needed Add ins; the "heaviest" one that slows things down a bit is
the XFA add in for PDF - X documents. Move this to the "optional" folder.
Secondly, if you have a virus scanner running, set it to not scan the
Acrobat Plug Ins directory. (Of course at the obvious risk of someone
creating a nice virus add in.)
