I can create Adobe documents through a third party industry specific software. After the pdf file is created, I want to be able to save specific page ranges as separate pdf files for distribution. Which Adobe product do I need to do this?

The same one that allows you to create PDF files. Acrobat 5.

I cannot find Adobe Access in the product list anywhere. Any clues?

I assume he meant Acrobat Approval. Access is a Microsoft product.

Angie, if the only feature you are looking the software to do is 'save as' then you might want to look into Adobe Access... you can look at it as either a souped-up version of Reader or an incredibly stripped-down version of Acrobat.

I don't think Approval allows you to remove, insert, replace and extract pages.

Angie, What is the "third party industry specific software" that you are using? Does it not allow you to save page ranges as separate pdf files? If not, then Acrobat (full product, not Reader) will enable you to do this. Check pdfzone for more products, such as those from ARTS.

My 3rd party software will allow me to select page ranges before sending to Acrobat, but the processing time to get reports is lengthy. I would rather run one big report and then break it down.
We had an older version of Adobe 4.0 here and I installed just the distiller. This allows me to "print" select pages to the distiller printer driver. This is a simple solution. Thank you to everyone for their input.
