Every time I save a pdf document to a particular drive, I would get the following error:
The document could not be save. There was a problem reading this document (105).

Any suggestions.

If it's a network drive save it locally then copy it to the network drive.

I did that... it didn't work when I copy and paste it from c:\ to the network drive.

That sounds very bad, and suggests serious problems. Perhaps. What
exactly happened? Did you try drag and drop in Windows Explorer?

I have the same problem, except the number in brackets is (109) in my case. I think it may be a problem with Acrobat 6 (with or without the upgrade to 6.0.1), as I have Acrobat 5 on another machine, and that saves the same document without any problem.

What happens is that I open the document successfuly, but when I try to save it after any modification, I get the error message...and inevitably lose my modification.

I'm running Acrobat 6.0.1 Pro (upgraded from 6.0.0 Pro a few minutes ago) on XP Pro (SP1) on a 3 GHz P4 with 1 GB RAM. The document is on a network drive, but it doesn't seem to make any difference where I try to save it.

Suggestions gratefully received.

I also have gotten a similar message (don't remember the (##) right now) but have 'fixed' by using the PDF Optimiser in AA6 to save either up or down and then back to the level I want. It seems to clear the problem whatever it is. I have noticed it seems to happen with older PDF's i.e. created with lower than AA6, perhaps some kind of compatibility issue??

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried what worked for you, but couldn't get the document to save in any PDF level. If I try to change the image settings in the PDF Optimiser I either get the same results or, worse, the program hangs.

Anyone from Adobe reading this?

This is not exactly the same problem, but when I convert word xp or word 2002 document to pdf it appears just like I made it in word, but when I save it to web, looks text and pictures postitions very different. Does it depends of web browser or is it possible at all to make exactly similar documents to web like in your application.

I appreciate a lot if I get any information for this.

Andrew have you tried copying the pdf to a local HD first and opening it from there and then try saving it?

It does sound your pdf has become damaged. You can try opening the pdf and re-distilling it by printing the pdf to the adobe pdf printer. (note that this will lose any links, form fields etc)

Thanks very much for these suggestions.

It makes no difference whether I save to a network drive or a local drive

The redistillation idea works fine as a workaround, though. Until I get to the bottom of the problem, I'll use this.

(Sorry I have no suggestions to offer Teijo.)

I know this is from forever ago, but I have been searching the web for solutions and did not find any until I just discovered that I could "Save as Other." I chose an optimized PDF and it worked beautifully. Hope this helps for those of you out there that still have the same problem.
