when I'm in pagemaker 7 and want to create a ps file, error message says, cannot embed the following fonts (lists 4 or 5). The fonts are there though and installed on my computer. I think this is an issue with acrobat 6. Anyone run into this problem or that can help me, I really appreciate it.

The fonts may not be licensed for embedding. You do not indicate how your are creating the PDF (there are several ways and you need to indicate the steps to get better help). It would also help to know if the fonts are TrueType or some other type.

Have you tried to embed the fonts by printing from WORD or some other package with these fonts? If it does not work from other applications either, then it is likely a license issue. Fonts can not necessarily be used just because you have them on your system, but are copyrighted and permission must be given for the embedding (the license issue).

Also, an exact copy of the error statement would help.

I have the same problem and I cannot figure out what is going on. I am using Type 1 Unvers font. It is in my font folder and I purchased it from Adobe. (It worked fine in Arobat 5) When I print to a file, in either Word or FrameMaker and then distill the file the fonts in the Document Properties show up as:

The name next to the icon is T1, T2, T3, T4, etc.
Type: Type 3 (eventhough this is a Type 1 font)
Encoding: Custom
Actual Font: T1
Actual Font Type: T3

If I try to edit text in the pdf file I get the following message:

All or part of the selection has no available system font. You cannot add or delete text using the current selected font.

Arobat 6.0.2 5/18/2004
Windows XP

How exactly do you print to file?
Which printer do you use for that?
Make sure it's Distiller or the adobe pdf printer and not some other (olf) ps printer.
