How to reduce maximum page size?

Acrobat version: Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro
Windows version: WinXP Pro

Would you tell me a method to reduce maximum page size?

I would like to perform OCR but get following error upon performance of the OCR (Document->OCR Text Recognition->Recognize Text Using OCR):
"Acrobat could not perform recognition (OCR) on this page because: This page is larger than the maximum page size of 45 inches by 45 inches"

Size of scanned document: 8.5x 11 inch

That is likely found in properties of the scanner. You may have some options available in Acrobat when you scan. You should be able to see the page size by moving the mouse to the lower left of the window. Generally the resolution of a graphic needs to be between 200 and about 600dpi for OCR. There may be variations, but this is the typical requirement I run into. It may be that the resolution was too high and it was read as a large page instead.

Do you mean impossible to reduce the size?
Would you please introduce me a software; enabling the OCR for color image of 600 dpi or higher (resolution)?

These .pdf files were not scanned with Acrobat Pro; those were scanned as .jpg with above scan option, then converted to .pdf with third-party pdf creator. I did not have Acrobat Pro when those files were created.

'Optimize Scanned PDF' option can be exercised to reduce the size of a scanned image PDF. Try the option Document-> Optimize Scanned PDF of Acrobat, and this shall reduce the size of the PDF.

After optimizing the PDF try running the OCR.
