I am unable to save a powerpoint presentation as a pdf file in Acrobat 5.0, does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

'Save as' PDF---are you aware that generating a PDF is a printing process...? To create a PDF you'd either use the Acrobat icon in your PowerPoint toolbar, or use the File menu Print option and choose the Distiller printer.

If that's not the problem you're having, please provide more details. What exactly do you mean by 'unable' -- does it give an error message (and if so, what in exact words), or does it seem to hang and not complete, or is the resulting file not what you expect (and if so, why)?

Thanks for your response, Suzanne. Yes, I had tried both "printing to acrobat distiller" and the Acrobat icon in powerpoint. Both of these work when I convert an excel or word document, but it freezes up when I try a powerpoint presentation. I also tried just one page of the presentation in case it has something to do with the size (38KB). What could be making it freeze up, or "hang and not complete"? It never makes it to the pdf saving stage. I hope this provides enough details!

Does it happen with an empty powerpoint presentation? if not, check your current document masterpage for any big, scaled graphics and transparent gif files. Take these out and try again.
