I have distiller set up for print in the job options window. I create pdfs from Quark all the time, for about the last 2-1/2 years. I never change that setting, i.e. I never switch to eBook settings or screen settings. It always stays on the print settings.
On occasion, a girl in another department comes to me and says that her forms are printing too light. Since a pdf is a pdf, unless its corrupted or something, I can't see that its the pdf, I tell her to check the copier and the toner, etc.
Yesterday, a customer called and said a pdf I sent to them is printing "funny", lighter than others. I resent her the pdf and the quark doc in case they needed to create one on their system.
My question is - is it possible that this could be a problem with the pdf? I say no, it doesnt make sense. I still contend it's some problem with their laser printers.
Any thoughts on this? Could there be a problem with the pdf?
(Yes, Acrobat [Pro], not Reader)
Anyone have any suggestions?
Print the same doc to our B&W Xerox DocuPrint 4525 and it is fine!
Using Acrobat 6 Pro
Could you have a CM setting that has embedded a profile into the PDF that's causing the problem?
That could explain the lightness difference between the color and b&w printer output. The strecthng thing I would guess is a driver problem (not sure though).
