Hi there

I have a picture of a silver (fairly shiny) galvanized dust bin/trash
can. How can I realistically change the colour to, say, a solid red?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

well there are several ways that one could go about this. All of which
depend on the actual image. The first thing that I would suggest would
be to ad a color layer above the image that you want to manipulate and
set the blending mode of that new layer to "color". That should change
everything to the color of whatever the new layer is.
If that does not do what you want I think I will need to see the image
before I can make any more suggestions.

Hi many thanks for taking the time to respond to me, it's greatly
appreciated.

I tried your suggestion, but only managed to give the image a red
"tint". I may be doing something wrong. May I send the image to you?

Kindest regards
