Demential is due to AD?

Hello,

ADNIMERGE file contains disease progression variable DX (CN, MCI, Dementia). 

Is this Dementia due to AD or any other causes?? 

And where can I found the information regarding cause of Dementia (due AD or other)!

Hi,

You may use the DXSUM_PDXCONV_ADNIALL file.

The variable called "DXDDUE" (suspected cause of dementia) is for ADNIGO, 2, 3. 

 

For ADNI1, some helpful variables are "DXAD", "DXADES" ,"DXAPP" etc.

Please check DATADIC for each variable's coding and its descriptions.
